Crazy Funny California Laws

Crazy Funny California LawsThere sure are some seriously questionable (and downright funny!) laws on the books. Here are some I recently came across and thought I would share:

Did you know that in San Diego it is illegal to shoot jackrabbits from the back of a streetcar? Huh?

Also, the owners of houses with Christmas lights on them past February second may be fined up to $250. Say what?

Think those are crazy? Here are a few more:

  • In San Diego, animals are banned from mating publicly within 1,500 feet of a tavern, school, or place of worship.
  • A regulation in San Francisco makes it unlawful to use used underwear to wipe off cars in a car wash.
  • In Arcadia, California, peacocks have the right of way to cross any street, including driveways.
  • A California law prohibits the eating of any frog that dies during a frog jumping contest.
  • In San Luis Obispo, it’s illegal to use gas-powered blowers on Sundays.
  • The city of Portola, California does not allow anyone to bring a fish into a bar.
  • In Palm Springs, camels are not allowed on Palm Canyon Drive between four and six in the evening.

These are some examples of lighthearted fun in the law but, as we all know, legal procedures can be frustrating and confusing. If you need a litigation support company for San Diego service of process or small claims judgment enforcement, look to the proven professionals at Paladin Legal Support.
